Product Description
Known as ‘The Cognac of Vikings,’ Larsen Cognac has striven to produce and offer products of high quality throughout the world. A family run concern, the story of Cognac Larsen dates back to 1926 when Jens Reidar Larsen made the move from his home country of Norway to France. Seduced by the quality of the brandy that came from the town of Cognac, he devoted much time and effort to become a connoisseur in the subject, and naturally progressed to owning and running his own Cognac house. Larsen Cognac is created for those who are explorers at heart, who are on a mission to learn new things and find new perspectives. For those who seek excitement in unexpected places, a great cognac is always a discovery. We have believed in this since 1926, and it still holds true today. The very special distillation procedure is a crucial part of Larsen Cognac style: after vinification a double distillation of the wines takes place without the lees, in order to preserve the original fruity aromas of the grapes and produce eaux-de-vie of superior elegance and finesse.
This is a Cognac aged in a cask with a specific toasting and wood preparation consisting in various processes including hot steaming the wood to prepare the grain before the charring. An excellent VS Cognac from Larsen, known as Aqua Ignis (water fire) with an intensity of flavours never experienced before! Produced by a unique and never-done-before approach to cask making, Aqua Ignis is characterized by triple steamed and bracero toasting. The powerful combination of water and fire pushed to their limit, has created this unique expression of Cognac, with notes of roasting, mocha and vanilla. Elegant and distinctive palate with a velvety texture. A remarkable and unique Cognac.
